In With a Broken Wing she continues that journey of discovery — about herself, her family and the world at large — through a cloud of grief and in the shadow of Ragnarok.
It begins when a child who tells her he likes her wings — wings no human should be able to see. While she attempts to find out what that means — surely this adorable little boy doesn’t pose a threat to her and those she loves? — she is forced to make a huge sacrifice to protect a friend and deal with even more life-shaking revelations about her family.
Then she is given a quest by a dwarf.
And she has to navigate all of that without even the familiar comfort of the sword that started all this drama in the first place.
It’s all incredibly unfair, but at least she can trust her friends to help her through it… or can she?
