S is for Snow

SThis year I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge again. I thought it might be fun to share some of my photography instead of always my words. They say a picture is worth–well, you know what they say 😉

I will try to keep these blog posts short and sweet, while still offering a little bit of insight into each photograph, just for fun.

S is for Snow.

S has to be for snow. Not because I like snow (though I don’t *hate* it like I do ice and cold LoL) but because I have to deal with snow for more days of my life than I don’t. #goodtimes

Speaking of dealing with it… I don’t know if the shovel is a good enough object to have left there for scale, but it was all I had at the time:

When it’s not being a pain my back (though to be fair Jo shovels more often than I do LOL), snow can be quite pretty. Like in this shot looking down our street:

Or this shot of our backyard (interestingly, I took this picture in April LoL):

The only one around here who really loves snow, is the dog. You know how with some dogs, when you take them for a walk they need to stop and sniff every leaf on every tree? Tre is like that… but he also wants to roll around in every patch of snow. >_<

Yes it can be pretty when sitting in the house as it comes down fresh. But then that fluffy white stuff gets mixed with mud and dirt, hiding poop that you accidentally step in, and becomes as you mentioned a pain to shovel. Can you tell I’m not a fan of snow?

So pretty. I love looking at the snow. These are some great shots! The backyard is a picturesque winter wonderland.

  3. I love snow. I don’t think there’s anything quite as calming. I do miss it sometimes, being here in the perpetual land of summer.

Lady, you totally need a snowblower!

I have more issues with snowblowers than I do with snow LOL Loud, polluting things… not for me. Mostly I think I need to move to a different climate 😉

  4. I always hesitate to complain about our lack of snow here in Nashville, since I would rather not be snowed in for days at a time! An occasional snow that melts off by noon is about all we ever get…and it’s usually just a light dusting. Move to Middle Tennessee. You’ll actually start to forget what snow looks like!

  5. I know, I’ve had ENOUGH of snow by this point in the year, but is DOES make for gorgeous photos. My favorite is the one of your dog!

    • Rhonda says:

It does make for some nice photos… but yeup, time for it to go now. My yard is finally melted, actually — just in time for rain 😉

  6. Tre blends in with the snow :). We have tons of snow as well and I like it for about a month and then I am over it.

    • Rhonda says:

My photo challenge on that day was to take a monochrome photograph, which is why I picked Tre in the snow 😉

I love snow, I wish we had more here but I’m not sure I would want snow like that in April (though it makes a spectacular photo!). Beautiful photos and Tre definitely looks like a snow dog! 🙂

    • Rhonda says:

Tre loves the snow. Loves it. He’s going to be a sad puppy when we move to a nicer climate, but he’ll get over it 😉

I adore snow. Used to ski in my younger days. I keep threatening to move somewhere with decent snow, here in L.A. we have to seek it out.

    • Rhonda says:

I’d offer to trade you places, but I don’t think the climate in LA is what I’m looking for either. Picky, picky, right? LOL

  9. Holli says:

Okay, the dog is adorable. I almost forgive you for posting about snow when we’re finally into Spring. 🙂

  10. Debra says:

Whatever else snow may be it sure is beautiful and so is that lovely dog: it almost looks part fox. <3

  11. I laughed when I read what you wrote about the dog being the only one who loves the snow. Made me remember when I had dogs and how they would go crazy, running all through the snow. BTW, I don’t like snow. I think it’s a bad four letter word.
