E is for Eyes

EThis year I’m participating in the Blogging from A to Z Challenge again. I thought it might be fun to share some of my photography instead of always my words. They say a picture is worth–well, you know what they say πŸ˜‰

I will try to keep these blog posts short and sweet, while still offering a little bit of insight into each photograph, just for fun.

E is for Eyes… with a bonus elephant eye πŸ˜‰

We went to the zoo a couple years ago and I left depressed for the animals… but with a few good photos. Like this one of Lucy:

Also, Jo bought me a macro lens for Mother’s Day a while back… I had fun playing with it, as you can see in these two similar shots:

This is Eowyn. She’s one of our kitties — the one who always freaking blinks when I try to take her picture, which makes this much more than ‘just another cat photo’:

Lastly we have Mr. Bogle, who lives at the Birds of Prey Centre in southern Alberta:

D is for Danica. Because of course it is πŸ™‚

Dani modeled for me out in the snow one warm wintery afternoon. This shot was both of our favourites from the day:

The conversation preceding this photograph went like this:

Me: Dani, I like the light in your room right now, how about you roll over so I can take your picture.
Dani: *rolls over*
Me: *takes picture* Thank you
Dani: You’re welcome. I’m going to go back to half-sleeping now.

Finally, I snapped this one in a parking lot when we were on vacation in Nova Scotia in 2012. It turned out to be one of my favourite shots from the whole trip:

C is for Chai Latte, like this one I had with Jo after we took a very long walk to get to our favourite coffee place. It might also be for cookie:

C is also for cloud… like this one which I love because apparently, at my heart, I’m still 12:

It’s also for Camerabag, which is the program I use these days to do 99% of my photo editing. Like in this picture:

Published: Seedpaper

Mythic Delirium 0.4Not only has my short story, Seedpaper, been published in the most recent issue of Mythic Delirium, but it is currently being featured on the website as well. You can read it complete free right here and then pop over here to read the featured poems for April by Lynette MejΓa and Jane Yolen!

My list of favourite stories I’ve written is always evolving but right now Seedpaper would be in the top three so consider popping over and giving it a read. I don’t believe you’ll be disappointed if you do πŸ™‚

I used to smoke about a pack a day. Quitting was possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and getting a dog was my reward for that. Tre is that dog.

A is also for Absinthe:

She doesn’t like posing for photographs as much as Tre does, so I have fewer of them.
